Cen- ter Department This dignified looking gentleman In our male personality of the week. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended high school in Englewood, Calif., at Cathedro High, where he was very active in student affairs and athletics. He held the position of class secretary', and worked on various other committees. He was on the football and swimming teams, and was elected captain of the swimming team. He also played football in a Police Athletic League in his home town. While discussing sports with Jay, I found he has a great interest and philosophy on sports. He feels that sports are a necessity, and the primary purpose of sports should be to keep in good physical condition as well as to have fun. He says that it is a necessary relaxation for students attending school. Jay has served with Uncle Sam in the Air Force. Through his leadership ability he became a sergeant, and for historys sake, he spent one day in Korea, which Im sure he feels was plenty. After his stay in the Air Force, Jay worked for a year, saved his money, and came to Dixie to school. Now that he is at Dixie, he has been elected Sophomore President, and we might add that he is doing an outstanding job. He is a member also. Jay is a real of the asset to Dixie College.
