Sportsmans Headquarters.!; Gym Supplies Rodney Nelson, Joan Esplin, Car..l White Mrs. Pansy Hardy Flyers Win Two From Region 1 0 Foes St. George, September 26, Dixie High Flyers began their quest for their third successive Region 10 championship with a 27-victory over a determined, but Parowan Ram crew. After a few anxious moments in the first quarter, Dixie generated a 87 yard scoring drive and never trailed. Score by Quarters: & 7 7 27 7 Dixie 0 0 0 0 ..0 Parowan Dixie scoring: T.D. Pace, Wallis, Fish, and Cooper. P.A.T. Pace, Wallis, Forbes. Kanab, October 1, Dixie, held on almost even terms for the first half, broke away for a 34-- triumph over the Kanab Cowboys. The Flylers, possibly a little over confident, were brought to earth leading only 14-at halftime, by virtue of Paul Paces two touchdown runs. Second half scoring began on a 30 yard aerial from Holland to Pec-towho galloped, untouched, the 20 remaining yards to the end zone. Later in the third period, Jeff Holland climaxed a 60 yard sustained march by the Dixie offense with the Flyers fourth touchdown. Ralph Staheli capped the days scoring with a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Bruce Wallis scored all four of the Flyers extra points. Much of the credit for victory belongs to the Flyers dependable line. Wendell Bayles, chairman. The department plans to take advantage of the Gregg Awards Plan during the current school year. Pens and certificates will be awarded accordingly. Mr. Bayles incidates too, that the Future Business Leaders of America, a national organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C., will complete its organization on the Dixie College campus at an early date. Students who are interested in the club are requested to contact Mr. Bayles. c , vice-preside- Twelve Girls Selected To Form Rebelettes - Selection of twelve girls at Dixie College to form the core of the Dixie Rebelettes, womans marching unit, was announced by Miss Myrna Hunsaker, head of the womans physical education department. The girls were selected after a series of extensive tryouts. They were judged on poise, carriage, rhythm, and physical appearance. Girls who have been selected for the precision group include: Janet Holley of Springville, president; McAllister of St. George, Mariam Wadsworth of Hurricane, secretary; Marilyn Snow of Vernal, reporter; Judy Hansen of Hurricane; Darlene Heaton of Alton; Sherryl OConner of Santa Barbara, Calif.; Priscilla Bleak of Pioche, Nev.; Louise Lucas of Ore.; and Sharon Jones, Beverly Barlocker, and Connie Terry, all of Enterprise. The Rebelettes follow a rigorous training schedule. They meet for two hours in the evening for times a week to perfect their marching techniques. Kodak films and finishing. Rush! Rush! Everyone seems to be rushing! Lambda Delta Sigma fraternity began its Rush Week, the first of its kind to be held on the Dixie College campus, Monday, September 6. All upper division students were kept busy meetings, song attending fests and lemonade breaks. Pamphlets were read, badges worn and signs posted to keep Lambda Delta Sigma on everyones tongue. Lambda Delt even managed to get in the air south of the Administration Building. Climaxing the weeks activities will be a Mexican Party Thursday night at 8 p. m. in the Institute.
