I know you are saying that section specifies "house trailer. Well, under the legal definitions, "house trailer r means "(a) A trailer or w hich is designed, constructed and equipped as a dwelling place, living abode or sleeping place either permanently or temporarily and is equipped for use as a conveyance on streets and highways, or (b) A trailer r whose chassis and or a exterior shell is designed and constructed for use as a house trailer, as defined in paragraph (a), but which is used instead permanently or temporarily for the advertising, sales, display or promotion of merchandise or services, or for any other commercial purpose except the transportation of property for hire or the transporta- - Brvant Utah Highway Iatrol Along with the summer months and the vacation season has come many phone calls from individuals who have just purchased trailers They have been told by someone who was told by someone else that it is permissible to have people ride in the trailer while it is being towed on the highway. Utah Symphony to Perform A Free Concert Thursday Special To The Tribune The Utah Symphony a free pops concert Thursday at Mount Jordan Middle School, 9360 S. 400 East. The concert, which begins at 8 30 p m., will be held on the schools football field and is sponsored by Alta View Hospital. Utah Symphony Associate conductor Charles Ketcham will conduct the concert which features Rossini's "Barber of Seville Overture, Nicolai's "Merry Wives of Windsor Over SANDY will perform ture and Coplands Bill the Kid." The most colorful part of the program includes Tchaikovskys "1812 Overture, a passionate piece about Napoleons march to Russia. The piece culminates with cannons blasting. "Stars and Stripes" will conclude the evenings performance and display of fireworks will follow. The public is invited to join the Utah Symphony in this free summer evening concert. Summer is a good time to spend leisurely hours reading a good book. The Ringltng Bros, and "LA-DIE- S Barnum & Bailey Circus once again is under way. A herd of elephants circles the ring as a Statue of Liberty is hauled up by ropes. Arms splayed wide and face aglow, the ringmaster reels off the myth. ."THE CIRCUS IS AMERICA!" the ringmaster shouts, as the band plays lustily and the elephants trot. : "THE CIRCUS IS EVERYTHING AMERICAN! ONE HUNDRED . The children's faces glow in agreement, as they lick their cotton candy, twirl their lights. The air is thick with childrens dreams of running away and joining the circus. They watch the performing circus kids and envy sweeps their faces. Circling around the elephants, the circus kids faces are all professional smiles. But the circus kids watch the audience kids with the same, envious look. There is a strong smell of urine in the car, car 86 of the Ringling Bros, and Barnum & Bailey Circus train, that sits in an eerie Long Island City railroad yard the circus families call home. It is 9 a m. and quiet in the yards. In the tiny compartments, where the windows don't open, the circus children are sleeping. Children sleep three to a tiny partment about the size of a com- Here on the circus train, people report salaries ranging from $200 to $300 a week. Performers say a first-yea- r clown starts at $180 a week. walk-i- n closet. Two children share the top of a bunk bed smaller than a single bed. Some children sleep on the floor. Some children sleep without sheets. Some children have only thin blankets and wake up feeling cold. Performers say they are covered by insurance but that their families are not. Several children said their eyes have never been checked. None wore glasses; none wore braces. Teen age brothers share compartments with younger sisters. The compartment has no bathroom. To get to one, children jump down from the bunk beds during the night to make their way to the toilet down the hall, often while the train is moving. The food they eat is whatever can be prepared on the hot plate in their mothers compartment. There is a restaurant on the train, called the Pie Car.
