The trios progress at St. Louis, prevailing wisdom said, would largely depend on the luck of the draw that is, who the Utah fighters drew as opponents in the early rounds would be crucial. By Joe Baird Tribune Staff Writer Utahs three Golden Glove Nationals participants are back from St. Louis now, a bit bruised and a little wiser from the experience. Frankie Lucero, Beto Montoya and Carina Leota all qualified for the national tournament by virtue of their victones at the state and regional Golden Glove tourneys held at the Fairgrounds Coliseum in March. Lucero won state and regional championships at 119 pounds, while Montoya captured the 132 pound title and Leota won at 147. Going into the St Louis tournament none of the Utah fighters was In the welterweight division, Leota had no such luck. Talented, but admittedly on the green side with just a 17-- 5 amateur record going in, Leota had the misfortune of drawing the worlds second ranked 147 pounder in Louis Howard the opening round. Handy received a certificate of completion during the recent general session at the National Judicial College on the campus of the University of sidered through an examination of the role and ethics of judges, management of the court and the judges relationship with the public. The judge, his court and the community were con which included individual videotaping of each participant along with advanced skill development through workshops, small group discussions, demonstrations and problem-solvin- g sessions. The course had 33 participants from 14 states, including seven tribal court judges and one judge from the trust territory of American Samoa.
