(AP) -TALLAHASSEE, Telephone tips inspired by a rerun of the television movie Adam led police closer to at least six missing children Tuesday, and two of them were awaiting a reunion with their mother, authorities said. The two children, a girl and her brother, were found in Texas after a caller recognized the girl from a photograph broadcast Monday night at the conclusion of NBCs rerun of the movie, Adam, said Fred Schneyer, a spokesman for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Jessica and Robert Hagjizadeh were in good health when police found them with their father, Issa Hagjizadeh, in Burleson, Texas, 15 miles south of Fort Worth, Schneyer said. Their mother, Carol Hagjizadeh, had not seen the children since July and was reunited with them in Cleburne, Texas, near Fort Worth, according to a statement from the Burleson Police Department Telephone tips following the program provided authorities very hot leads on six or seven missing children, including the two found in Texas, said Charles Jacobs of the FDLE's Missing Children Information Clearinghouse. The agency's telephone number was also broadcast after the movie. Mike McHargue of the executive investigations unit of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said unconfirmed leads on missing children were not being released "One of the worst things is to get people's hope up and not find anything, he said. Meanwhile, Childfind, a group in New Paltz, N Y., that was credited with helping police find the two children Tuesday, said it had received more than 1.000 calls in the wake of the movie. The group said the information that came in following the movie could lead to the locating of six children. We know where they are, and in those cases the parents have been notified," said Nancy Stella, a spokeswoman for Childfind There s a whole legal procedure the parents must go through to reclaim their children " The TV movie told the story of Adam Walsh, who was snatched from a sidewalk outside the Hollywood, Fla , Mall on July 27, 1981 Fishermen found his severed head two weeks later, but his body was never recovered At the end of the movie, pictures of missing children were shown. It's pretty incredible, said Linda Otto, the movie's producer When the number appeared on the air, before 10 seconds were up, 40 phones rang " As of noon Tuesday, McHargue said 723 callers reported possible sightings of some of the 49 missing children Officials also received calls reporting an additional 79 children missing Judge Stops Trial Of De Lorean To Check Charge - A federal LOS ANGELES (AP) judge briefly stopped John Z. De Loreans cocaine trafficking trial Tuesday to investigate a claim that the FBI intimidated a defense lie detector expert while he was testifying in a pretrial hearing. The development brought the second defense motion in a week to dismiss all charges against the former automaker on grounds of governmental misconduct Attorney Howard Weitzman said it revealed a pattern of trying to set someone up the same way John De Lorean was set up. U.S. District Judge Robert Taka-suheard testimony from an FBI agent involved in the incident then said he would study a thick file of documents before deciding if further hearings are needed. The documents include letters written by Sens. John Tower, and Jeff Bingham, D-- M., about allegations of harassment of the polygraph expert David C. Raskin, and efforts to discontinue his contract for a government study. Raskin claimed in a separate letter that FBI agents involved in the De Lorean case tried to interfere with his employment Weitzman submitted the documents Tuesday before the jury arrived, saying they showed the FBI instigated an investigation into Raskins competency while he was testifying in the De Lorean case. They intimidated David Raskin, argued Weitzman. Raskins testimony was the key to an unsuccessful effort by the defense team to admit lie detector evidence at the De Lorean trial. The test showed De Lorean was truthful when he denied any involvement in a cocaine deal. An FBI test showed he was deceptive. De Lorean is charged with conspiring to distribute $24 million worth of cocaine in an effort to save his failing sports car company in Northern Ireland. He could face 72 years in prison if convicted. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Perry rgued that Weitzmans complaint was much ado about very little because polygraph evidence had already been rejected. The polygraph isnt the issue, snapped the judge. Takasugi reminded attorneys of his own assessment of Raskin when he ruled on the polygraph motion last Feb. 13:Of all the witnesses who testified, Dr. Raskin was unquestionably the most qualified, the most expert, the most professional and perhaps the most unbiased. With the jury absent, the judge questioned FBI agent Jerry West. West admitted that last November he telephoned Fred D. Stroshine, coordinator of the Utah State Law Enforcement Services Division of the Office of Regulatory Licensing to inquire about Raskin's qualifications and the accuracy of the lie detector test he had given De Lorean. The letters submitted by Weitzgi N man showed an inquiry was launched, that Raskin had to appear before the Detection of Deception Board in Utah, and that on Jan. 26 the board concluded there was no violation of the rules and regulations or state statute during Raskins polygraph tests for the De Lorean trial. West said he was not trying to influence the case but was seeking "any information, good or bad mainly bad that could be used by the prosecution in Raskin. Takasugi is still considering a dismissal motion filed last week after FBI undercover agent Benedict Tisa admitted he destroyed notes which could be evidence in the De Lorean case. At the end of Tuesdays session, Raskin arrived at the courthouse for another case and stopped to see Weitzman. Cornered by reporters, Raskin said he felt the government actions toward him were outrageous, adding, Its not over yet. He said he had been cleared of all allegations in the Utah matter, and his contracts for studies commissioned by the government have been renewed. cross-examini- 4 -- TH2 SOtAUmtACK 4336 SOUTH STATE 1$ THOUSAMtS OFCOUAfZS (H HOWS STEPS), CAR UQUKttrtOM. fio (ZgASCNABte OfFCg.
