Show Federal Forum Examines How Government Works Two sections of the federal forum, k course in national polia tics, are being offered by Utah nical College at Salt Lake in cooper-atio- n one-wee- with the University of Virginia. The sections will be held June 23 through 30 and July 7 through it in Washmgton. The program is one of the greatest ways to experience the inner workings of government. Students climb the steps to the forefront of American government, wend their way through the monuments of history, and come to the sites of current events," said Utah Tech instructor K.T. Magnusson. In Washington, classes are conducted by national policy-makerincluding senators and representar tives, White House officials, and leaders of the Washington community, including diplomats, news re s, porters and public interest organizers. Classes are held at the Capitol, at the State Department, Department of Justice, and other government buildings. Workshop topics include political parties, managing the economy, providing for the common defense, making foreign policy, checks and balances, and election year issues. Wednesday, May 2, 1961 EV7 0 Mr. Magnusson said the class is open to all teachers, administrators, government employees, and students who have completed at least one year of college. Tuition for the federal forum is 450. Those seeking three hours of college credit must also register with the University of Virginia and pay a 155 fee. A limited number of partial tuition scholarships are available for educators.
