The budget means a 5 percent pay increase for city employees, con- struction of a golf course at Mount Ogden Park and a temporary break from higher water rates for city residents. The council approved the budget on a 2 vote and delayed a proposed 15 percent water rate hike pending further study. The new budget will set the mill levy at 18.4 mills, compared to last years 16. G9 mills. Each mill increase amounts to about an $11.50 increase for the owner of a $00,000 5-- home. The council decided to budget $900,000 for the Mount Golf Ogden City Manager Cowles Mallory said. Course, Ogden police, who sought an 8.4 percent salary increase, were denied the bigger pay hike. Special to The Tribune PARK CITY Property taxes will increase as a result of the new city budget adopted by the city council this week. The $3 million-plu- s budget represents a total property tax increase of $205,000 or 4.98 mills. City Manager Arlene Loble says the increase amounts to about $74 a year for a typical residential condo for a single family. Some 2.89 mills of the increase is for the general fund, according to Ms. Loble, who says the funds are needed to make up for the loss of development fees in the wake of a construction slowdown in Park City. - The remaining OKs Budget Qt . . 1 We conclude that hav ing previously examined the returns of some 162 donors of gifts in kind to BYU and havmg found that all were overvalued, the IRS has established a reasonable basis lor believing that some of the remaining donors of in kind gifts may have also overvalued their gifts, the court wrote " which kind of un- usual. Mayor Jack Green said he is satisfied with the new budget. Its considerably less than last year. Of course, a budget is just an estimate, but I do think weve pared the expenses to the point where it hurts, without really experiencing any drastic cuts in services Ms. Ix)ble said she can live with the budget, noting it represents a step toward a more stable financial situation the citys capital improvement budget The amount had been allocated for the repaving of Park Avenue. Smce the bids came in $50,000 less than expected, Ms. Loble noted the savings was used to decrease the mill levy, rather than being put somewhere else. City Council members reviewed the budget during the last four weeks Ms. Loble said the council added to her budget rather than cutting it. $50,000 in "TTsTSh the great classics ot all lime Carefully crafted of genuine molded oak with hand rubbed oil finish Enoy veneer the comfort ol this international design as well as the supple elegance of natural topgrain leather Relax in luxury cushions filled with urethane and wrapped in Dacron measures Tilt back or swivel a lull 360 Chair 32 wide, 33 high, 34" deep, ottoman is 6" long ' 22 ' deep, and 17 high Take advantage of this at Roberts of course value exceptional One The appeals court remanded the case, which had been appealed by the government, to the Utah federal court to enforce the summons to BYU officials to turn over the list of donors 2505 So.
