(adv) Oscar Robertson is in receipt of a group picture of a bunch of navy recruits re-cruits who are located at San Francisco, Fran-cisco, his two sons, Elmer and Lester, appearing to excellent advantage a-mong a-mong the rest in their natty white uniforms. , ' Registration day passed off very quietly in Castledale, most of the business busi-ness houses being closed for the day. The program as published in last week's issue was attended by a good-sized good-sized crowd in the evening. The sheriff's office, which was utilized by Registrar O. J. Anderson as regstra-tion regstra-tion place, was splendidly decorated with the national colors. Articles of agreement for the prosecution prose-cution of the work on the Ephraim-Orangeville Ephraim-Orangeville road were signed Monday by the state road commission and the representatives of the office of roads, and the only thing needed now is the signature of the secretary of agriculture. agricul-ture. Sixty thousand dollars is to be spent on this project this year, 125,000 of which will be used in constructing con-structing the road between Orangeville and the Sanpete county line in Lower Joes valley. The project has already been tentatively approved by the department de-partment of agriculture, with which the office of roads is connected. A Bohleen lad from Ferron is the champion prairie dog catcher of a single sin-gle lot so far to appear at the county clerk's office. He brought in4 566 scalps last week and marched off with $16.98 a pretty good thing for the lad and a .better for the farmers in that fortunate vicinity. The 3c bounty given now for this pest is sure to be a blessing to the farmers who are just about being run out by the pests in some sections of the county. The clerk wishes us to remind all claimants that it is only necessary to bring the scalp as evidence for bounty, but there must be not less than a dollar's worth brought in at a time. A. B. Willey, who is in the county as the representative of .the, Kansas City Life Insurance company, is writing writ-ing a great deal of business that he would not otherwise have secured but for the fact that hjs company has not as yet put into effect the clause calling fo,r higher rates of premiums on those who may be called to perform military service. The war clause calls for a an almost prohibitive first premium and practically every company operating oper-ating now is enforcing this clause and Mr. Willey's company will be compelled com-pelled to do so after June 20th. He therefore has a few days which promise prom-ise to be very busy ones, but intends to cover Ferron, Emery and Huntington Hunting-ton during this period of grace, at the same time maintaining headquarters headquart-ers at Orangeville for all who may find it more convenient to meet him there. Men of military age who do not investigate this opportunity are certainly passing up something very much to their advantage. Mr. Willey is also negotiating a number of loans at attractive terms, (adv.)
