Show SACHARINE SAYINGS C. E. Larsen, chairman of the Emery-Carbon Emery-Carbon Sugar Beet Culture committee this week secured pledges of 110 acres of beets from two parties. Burton and Nielson, who purchased the Jeffs-Dixon ranch on Huntington Creek, went down for 100 acres and Sophus Jensen, who now has the James Wilcox farm, signed up for 10 acres. Both parties are well acquainted with sugar beet growing and are very enthusiastic boosters. George Mortensen of Emery is "right there" with free rightofways through any of his property, and furthermore, agrees to construct the necessary grade for the road through his property under un-der the road's direction and free of charge. it is reported Ferry Young is willing to plant 100 acres of beets and such a move is not unexpected from this progressive pro-gressive farmer. |
