Show WILL MEET TODAY TO APPORTION OFFICES Republican precinct chairmen from throughout the county will meet in the courthouse this morning at 10 o' clock to harmonize the wishes of the several precincts as to the offices each desires on the republican ticket this fall. The meeting is not called to name candidates but rather to talk over and adjust, where possible, any little differences that may arise where party harmony might be disrupted. Whether or not the plan will work out as planned it is hard to say. The proposition is merely an experiment and may prove very sucessful in gaining gain-ing the ends desired. The republicans of Castledale met together last Wednesday evening and endorsed B. W. Dalton for county attorney and Horace Larsen for county coun-ty treasurer., while the Orangeville brethren met Thursday evening and endorsed J. Frank Killian for county recorder and W. F. Fail for treasurer. treasur-er. Thus there is a contest on between be-tween Castledale and Orangeville on the treasurership right off the bat and just how the thing will be decided it would be very difficult to surmise. According to the call from county headquarters it is likely that only the precinct chairmen will have a say in thedeliberations and right there arises the difficulty of disproportionate representation rep-resentation as the smallest precinct in the county will have an equal voice with the largest. Nothing could be learned as to what other towns of the county were coming com-ing for up to the time of going to press though Emery is understood to be grooming a man for recorder. We will be able to give our readers a great deal more of the "dope" in our next, we are inclined to believe, as there are pretty sure to be "big do-in's" do-in's" at today's session. |
