Show CREEKRIVER HAS ELECTRIC LICHTS Electric lights flashed throngh every s'reet in Greenriver last Saturday evening when Mayor Charles McPher-Sjn McPher-Sjn pushed a button that sent the current curr-ent over tha citizens' own system. For more than five years Greenriver tas endeavored to secure electric lights but always some apparently insurmountable insurmoun-table obstacle interfered. At last the People got together and the project was consummated. It was just getting dark when the !'K'its gleamed from the big lamp overhead over-head and in the windows of business houses and as the rays burst forth they ere met with cheers from the hundreds hun-dreds of people who had assembled to v''tness the ceremony. In addition every steam whistle shrieked wildly a"'j every bell in the city rang loudly as the city jumped from darkness into ';eht. A big free banquet was served and the people enjoyed themselves in carnival fashion.
