sept pt 30 to october 3 in addition to a dozen or more united states govern meent officials and representatives ot of foreign governments this array ot of talent goes to make up a program that will excell in interest that pf af any previous session of the congress in addition to the business program for the 1912 session the utah board of control under direction of chairman george A snow has arranged a program of entertainment tain ment for delegates and visitors that will make the meeting one of the most enjoyable gatherings over ever held in the west wesl I 1 details of the program have been practically completed the following order however being subject to slight change preceding the opening of the congress res s 0 on n the morning of september septemo er 30 the queen of irrigation and her attendants will be escorted into the city by the governor and his staff city officials military organizations and busil ness men in line of march ending endi ngat tat the noted salt lake tabernacle the congress will formally be opened by the queen and there will follow a musical program with the rendition of the ode to fo irrigation as the principal feature this ode will be rendered by the famous tabernacle choir of salt lake augmented to votes and the rendition will be bd under the pers personal direction of the composer professor J J mcclellan una and accompanied by i an orchestra and the great organ gitil edward P kimball at the console 1 4 1 the mormon choir ill w r also render patriotic airs under direction of its noted note d leader evan stephens addresses of welcome liy by governor william spry and alador alayor samuel C park with responses by senator francis G newlands president of the congress and tho the report of the executive committee will also be made at the opening meeting the second session on the afternoon of september 30 will bo be the occasion for add addresses by senator reed smoot of utah who will talk on liberalizing our land laws former governor A L thomas of utah who issued the call for the first congress twenty one years ago governor joseph al caroy carey of wyoming former governor george C pardee of george E barstow of texas dr seymour B young ot of utah and 11 II N hays ot of utah on the evening of 0 the opening day will occur the most elaborate entertainment tain ment feature of the congress in the form of a grand parade and electrical pageant this will include a series ol of floats representing the history and progress of irrigation in the united states and showing the products of the various irrigation irrl gatlon districts of the country varied with ait artistic latIc and musical features galore this pageant will undoubtedly be the most spectacular entertainment of its kind ever presented in the intermountain west aest following the parade a reception will be given at the salt lake commercial club the principal features of the third meeting of the congress will include the iho following
