Show I '(oiiHty ORANGEVILLE Leonard Lvle Tatton and Miss Alta Peacock visited Cupid W. G. Peacock, brother of the bride, last Monday and were united in wedlock by J. K. Reid, justice of the peace, the same evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Peacock sr. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Reid on the 2d inst., and all parties are doing well. The first cutting of hay is about through and it has been put up in good shape no storm to bother or spoil it and the crop has been a good average with other years. The water is holding out good for this time of year but it is beginning to recede. Crops generally general-ly are a good average. Orangeville will celebrate Pioneer day in great style and everybody is urged to come out and help to celebrate this day of all days. The order of parade and the program lor the afternoon sports are at hand and will be published next week. Needless to say, both are extensive and a genuine big time is expected that day. Song by the Congregation, "Come, Come, Ye Saints," Prayer by the Chaplain of the Day Childrens dance at 1:30 p. m. Prizes will be given for the best dancers in the children's folk dances. The sports will start at 3 p. m. and will consist of the greatest and grand-ess grand-ess assortment of games ever seen in Emery county or in all Utah. Come, everybody, and participate. There will be relav races, potato races, threading and winding and unwinding contests, horse races, ring relay races with horse and boys, peanut contests, bean bag contests, donkey trick games, tug of war, egg races, and races for everybody. Grand dance in the evening eve-ning for all. Come and be happy with the good folks in Orangeville. CLEVELAND Too lute for last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson returned home last Thursday and are kept busy receiving the congratulations of their many friends. Mrs. McFiggin, an aged lady here, has been very sick but is somewhat improved. im-proved. Miss Jennie Lamph who has been employed em-ployed at Morland, spent the 4th in Cleveland. Miss Mary Williams who has been at Standardville for some time has returned return-ed home. Kisty White and children of Morland are visiting relatives in Cleveland. Miss Pauline Oveson is nursing a misplaced arm which she received by being thrown from a buggie on the 4th Miss McChejne met recently with the home economics class and gave some very valuaple instrucions in canning. ELMO (Too late for last week.) Mr. and Mrs. Worth Tucker welcomed welcom-ed a son recently. Nephi Mortensen and Miss Elsie Oviatt were married in the Salt Lake temple the 7th of June, and are now making their home at Cameron where Mr. Mortensen has employment. Miss Inez Oviat is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Ruth Hardy of Sunnyside, where they have welcomed a son into their family. Master Lloyd Hardy is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bea-mon Bea-mon Oviatt. Miss Eliza Rasmussen has returned home from Sunnyside where she was employed. Lee Rasmussen of Sunnyside is visiting visi-ting relatives here. Ira Oviatt is home from the Cedar Mountain and reports it very dry farming farm-ing there. The 4th of Julv was celebrated by some of the Elmo people. Edward Atwood and family of Price have moved to their former residence. Mr.and Mrs.Elick Larson of Molen are visiting friends and relatives here. H. F. Mortensen is building a frame house in town and it is reported that he will have the post office in the near future. Ervin Christensen of Molen has returned re-turned home. He has had employment here. VICTOR (Too late for last week) Miss Ruth Waterman and Mrs. Ray Wells entertained at a luncheon Sunday evening at the home of the latter. Covers Cov-ers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Noyes, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wells. Miss Annetta Wells, Miss Ruth Waterman, Mr. Bryan Reid and Mr. Rolla Jewkes. Miss Vera Horsley returned recently from Price where she has been visiting tor some times. Sunday the Austinville boys came to Victor to meet our team and a very interesting game was played the score being 5-7 in favor of the visiting team. Miss Delorus Forsythe returned to her home in Teasdale after a pleasant visit with relatives in Victor. Mrs, S. M. Wells is visiting with her mother at Myton. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Noyes, MissesMarcel and Vera Horsley, Annetta Wells and Ruth Waterman, Messrs. Herman Cooley, CliffordWater-man, CliffordWater-man, Bryan Reid and Rolla Jewkes spent a very enjoyable time at a melon feed at the home of Miss Ruth Water-m Water-m in Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Wells and son of Huntington are visiting at the home of their datghter, Mrs. J. A. Olsen. Mr. O. B. Cooly is visiting relatives in Salina. |
