Show CONSTRUCTION OF FEED BOX Directions Given fo. Making Rack Sufficiently Large to Feed Twenty Head of Cattle. A plain box rack 24 feet long Is sufficient suf-ficient for feeding 20 head of cattle. Nail 12-inch boards at the bottom, then a good 6-inch board, then a good 2 by 6, then leave space to put the heads through, then a good 2 by 6 at the top. The boards below can be left a little way apart but the ends are boarded up tight. If this rack is kept clean and the hay pressed clown when put in so the cattle will stick their heads in above the most cf it there will not be much waste. There are many other forms of racks which are in favor among western feeders, but this one Is substantial and economical in construction con-struction and utility. |
