Show One of the chief sights at Mandalay, the old capital of Burmah, is the royal barge which was built for King Thebaw. Thebaw was an ugly customer; he defied de-fied the British and said he would chop them into mincemeat if they dared enter his dominions. They entered and finally took Mandalay, deposed him and annexed an-nexed Burmah to the British empire.
