Titus has returned ' from a leave of absence during which he has been doing graduate work at Harvard University and has assumed active work again at the Agricultural ' College as professor of entomology. His immediate work in Utah will be connected with the alfalfa weevil, the pest which is at present menaciog the alfalfa crops of the state. Dr. Titus has had extensive experience in experiment experi-ment station work, having been at dif ferent times connected with the Colo-1 Colo-1 rado Agricultural College, University of Illinois and for a number of years : was sdecial field agent in the Bureau of ; Entnmology, United States Department 1 of Agriculture. Harvard University has conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Science. He is the author of ' many scientific treatises and a member of numerous scientific societies. Dr. J. E. Greaves of the university of California hus been appointed by the regents of the college to the position of assistant professor in chemistry. Dr. Greaves, who is a native of Utah, will return to do work in connection with soil investigation. In addition to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy which Prof. Greaves has from the university of California, the degree of Master of Science has been conferred on him by the university of Illinois for work done in Agricultural Chemistry. |
