The store was recently purchased by Joe Hamula and ends a family ownership that began in 1865 when Daniel W'illiams, a pioneer immigrant from Wales, lime and concrete building which built a housed a small grocery store and post office Mr. Williams had a contract with Union Pacific two-stor- y Special to The T ribune PROVO Thirteen Utah County residents including two juveniles were charged Friday with various counts relating to distributing drugs The 13 were arrested Thursday afternoon and evening by Provo Police officers Lt. Bud Gillman, chief of detectives, said those arrested included 10 adults in Provo, female juvenile and 2 arrested at the same time in Rock Springs, Wyo. He said that the raid came as a culmination of a year long investigation. The arrests began about 3 p m. and were concluded at midnight Thursday. Team Effort Lt Gillman called the raid a team effort, saying "the 20 men involved met for a briefing and then moved quickly to prevent word getting around." Lt. Gillman said the arrests were made in various parts of Provo. Officers also confiscated high grade" marijuana, drug equipment, speed and pharmaceutical drugs. Williams and Son Co. marked the end of a year-lonproject y section to the existing which added a building The new quarters housed a drygoods department and the original store was renovated and enlarged to provide a modem food store affiliated with Independent Grocers Alliance. Joseph West Williams and his sister, Faye Eliza Williams, are the fourth generation to manage the store and attended the open house to accept the appreciation of the community for their service. Charges ranged from sale of an illegal drug, an indictable to distribution of marijuana and distribution of cocaine. Preliminary hearings were set for the early part of July.
