Show FERRON CONTRACTER'S BID FOR BUILDING LOWEST With the opening last Saturday night by the stake presidency of bids for the erection of the stake administration adminis-tration or bishops' building to be located loca-ted on the Castledale square, it was found that J. E. Soderquist of Ferron . had secured the contract as far as the stake authorities are concerned though the matter was left to the presiding bishopric in Salt Lake City for fina decision. There were two bids in, one from Soderquist and one from C. A. Tolboe of Provo, brother to our local grocery and meat man; but the latter's bid was not to be considered on account of the omission of the certified check for five percent of the amount of the bid, as was demanded by the notice as advertised. adver-tised. There was a difference of over $2000, on the net bid, however, in favor of that of Soderquist, and this, of course, gives the job to him. The two bids were as follows: Soderquist, $1,417.16; Tulboe, 56,464. The latter had provided to install the plumbing etc., at a higher figure but Soderquist did not make this proffer, and it is supposed that this work will be attended attend-ed to separately. The formal contract will be signed and bond given and accepted, within a short time now, and it is expected that excavation will be begun within about ten days. By the time that particular part is reached, it wili be known whether or not it will be advisable to put in a baptismal font, as by that time the question of whether or not we are to I have waterworks will have been voted : upon and settled. |
