Huntington, j represented by Misses Vesta Wakefield. Lola and Dora Leonard and Merle Johnson, won first place, and Castledale represented by Misses Anna and Pauline Pau-line Wood, Ok-a Day and Lea Hickman, won second i lace. Messrs. D. C. Wood.vard, N. L. Williams and Dr. Taylor, acted as the intellectual adjudication committee. The wards stood last night as follows; Castleda'e 5;:oints; Huntington 16points Ferron, 5 points; and Orsngeville, 3 - points. Preliminary baseball games between Castledale and Lawrence resulted re-sulted 11 to 9 in -favor of Castledale, and the Huntington-Orangeville result-e result-e 1 8 to 4 in ta vor of Orangevile. The Huntington girls beat the Castledale girls 14 to 7 in basketball, and the Cas- j t'edale boys routed the Lawrence lads to the tune of 19 to 0 in the one half that was played. Today promises to be even more successful suc-cessful than yesterday, as some of the most exciting of all the events will be pulled off this morning and afternoon. |
