Show ! PERRON i The Young Ladies association enter-I enter-I tained the old folks of the town last j Tuesday. Lunch and ice-cream were : served. In the evening there was a dance and each person over 50 years of j age was givi.i a free d rice. A goo 1 time was enjoyed by all. i Last Tuesday night the cash register j in the saloon was tapped. The thief ! entered through the back window. He got about $20 in cash, nothing else hav-: hav-: ing been stolen. We were presented with a fine shower show-er Wednesday. Though it tipped a great deal of grain over it has still been a great benefit to the community. Mrs. Geo. McDurmid of Somerset Colo., is visiting her father, Andrew Peterson. Arthur Lemon is spending a few days in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Clyda Black of Coyote, Millard county, who has been visiting with her mother the past fe,v miaths, has re-turned re-turned to her home. Arthur Cox and wife are vi.dting relatives and friends in Manti. Dr. Barnete is again in Ferron. Our corps of teachers for this season are Geo. Weggeland, principal; Lloyd Woods, Lillian Nelson, Margrete Bark-ley Bark-ley and IFene Killpack. W. H. Worthen and family spent a few days in Emery celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Worthen's father. Irwin Jensen is home from Grace, Idaho, where he has been teaching schoi 1. He will return there again the coming school year. (Too late for last week.) Louis Oisen met with a serious accident acci-dent a few days ago while branding cattle. One of his hands became tangled tang-led in the rope, which shpoed around- , the horn of the sad lie severing his thumb from his hand. Dr. Graham dressed the wound, i i The stork visited the home of Clarence Oisen on the sixth leaving a boy. All concerned doing well. Our coal mines are prep iring for a cold winter. They are prepare 1 to supply sup-ply the people this early in tne seasion. Samuel Singleton and family left in their auto for visit in Sanpete Ciunty. They will cross the miuntains through Salina. Harvesting is on in full blast. CLEVELAND Misses Lola and Floy Avery of Castle-gateare Castle-gateare here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. P. Johnson. Mrs. A. G. Anderson spent part of the week in town while Mr. Anderson was doing business in Salt Lake. Mr. Kane an J Mr. Hapgood have been doing business here this week for a !a cream separator company. ihey 1 came from S dt Lake in their auto and ' have related some very thrilling adven-j adven-j tures they experienced crossing the j mountains. Misses Zina and Neta Christensen of ! Price, are here visiting with relatives ' this week. Every one seemed to enjoy the conference con-ference that was held here last week. A great n tmber were in attendance ' from all parts of the stake except j Huntington, and we were very sorry . that some individual took the liberty to inform the people of the "filth" of our community. We are pleased, however, to see that the wise(?) correspondent from Huntington did not come into our "unclean" town to expose himself and carry back the dreaded small-pox to his people. Miss. Kate Christensen and Mr. T. D. Richards were in Mohrlan 1 the first of this week, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Bunnell. Miss Stella Oisen is home from S alt Lake where she has passed a successful operation for appendicitis. S. N. Alger has been numbered among the sick the past week hut is now improving. Lars P. Jensen's new home is nearly completed, also E Iw. Larson's. Bith are being built on the bench. |
