Show GREAT FREE EARBACUE FOR UTAH STATE FAIR The most unique and daring innovation innova-tion ever devised for a State Fair in the western country is under full headway head-way at Salt Lake for the coming Utah State Fair, October 3rd to 10th, inclusive. in-clusive. The greatest barbacue 'feast ever prepared west of the Rockies is being arranged for the thousands of visitors who will gather on the Fair grounds Monday afternoon, the third day of Fair week. Mr. John, Seely has been appointed manager of the barbacue, and he will furnish the beeves that are to be cooked cook-ed by an expert barbacue chef, secured by the state fair management. Entries in the agricultural and cattle departments are coming in daily by the scores. Dozens of country babies have been entered in the Better Babies co. -test, and reports from every county in the. state bring news of active contests now being waged for the selection of the girls who will represent the individual indi-vidual counties as Queens and Maids of Honor in the glittering gold and purple royal pageant, "The Carnival of the Counties," to be held Monday night in the big coliseum before thousands of spectators. Big exhibitors are striving with might and main to excel tach other in the lavishness of their exhibits. The Utah Power and Light Company, operating oper-ating throughout Utah, Idaho, and Colorado, have secured a big space in the very heart of the fair ground plaza and permanent buildings will be erected erect-ed in which will be demonstrated the use of electric power in operating every conceivable piece of machinery around the farm. Even cows will be milked by electricity. This year the farm machinery, implements, im-plements, and vehicle exhibit is located on a new thoroughfare, .called Machin ery Street in the very center of the big plaza between the manufacturer's building and the race track. All railroads have announced reduced rates to the state fair and the fair directors di-rectors have decided that admission this year will be 25c for adults and 10c for children. |
