Show TWELVE MINERS ENTOMBED. Slide of Earth and Rock Buries Dozen Utah Workmen. Eureka, Utah. Just as they were preparing to leave their work in the famous Oklahoma stope of the Centen-nial-Eureka mine about 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon, a great slide of earth and rock occurred in a long incline in-cline leading down to the 1,600-foot level, shut off the only exit of twelve miners and entombed them in almost certain death trap. The slide is known to have crushed to death some of the dozen, and while the rest may be alive in the great stope, it is feared that rescuers now working desperately to penetrate the .cave-in may not be able to reach them for days. It is probable prob-able that all of the men are dead. |
