Show : A JOINT RESOLUTION PROPOSING AN A-MENDMENT A-MENDMENT TO SECTION 9. ARTICLK VI. I OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF UTAH. RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION COMPENSA-TION OF THE MEMBERS OF TH E LEGISLATURE. LEGIS-LATURE. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State ' of Utah, two-thirds of all the members elected to each of tlie two houses concurring therein: Section 1. That it is proposed to amend Section 9. Article VI. of the Constitution of Utah, so that the some will road as follows: 9. Until otherwise provided by law. the members mem-bers of the Legislature shall reseive Eisrht dollars (.K.0u) per day and ten cents per mile for the distance dis-tance necessarily traveled RoinK to and returning from the place of meeting on the most usual route, and.'shall receive no other pay or perquisite. Sec. 2. The Secretai-y of State is hereby directed direct-ed to submit this proposed amendment to the e-lectors e-lectors of the State at the next general election in . the manner provided by law. j Section 3. Mrs. Catherine Thompson entertained entertain-ed a number of friends Sunday evening. j Decorations were elaborate .and deh- ' cacies were served to those present. i I Mrs. Chris Willardsen entertained 1 a number of friends Tuesday at her residence on main street. Dinner was ' served and an excellent time reported, j Miss Helen Olsen who has been visit-; visit-; ing with her sister, Lucille Bailey re-! re-! turned to her home in Salt Lake City last Sunday. Miss Genevieve Willardson entertain-! entertain-! ed Friday evening in honor of Miss 1 Faux. Vocal and instrumental music was dendered. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Rees, formerly form-erly residents of Wales, are making their home for the winter in this city. i Mrs. C. Iverson gave an afternoon party Friday. Refreshments were served and a fine time reported. Nephi Jenson returned to Ogden Sunday where he will be an instructor in the Web?r Stake Academy. Mrs. Caroline Willardsen entertained a number of lady friends at a dinner party Wednesday. Mrs. P. L. Breinholt pleasantly entertained en-tertained her children and grandchildren grandchil-dren Thursday on the anniversary of her birth. A surgical operation was 'performed on Flossie Mortensen Friday for the removal of her tonsils. Mrs. Andrew Jensen left Friday for Salt Lake City after being pleasantly entertained in Ephraim. Mrs. Mary Midgely of Wales and her daughter, Winnie, were in Ephraim Eph-raim during the week. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Ras Larson, Tuesday, a daughter. Mother and child are doing nicely. |
