The exhibit is titles New Imagings, a mixed media art exhibition.. Price began creating art in 1993 out of a simple desire to do it '1 had been writing a lot of short stories and poetry and felt the need to create something visual," Price said. " Using paper collage, acrylic paint and oil pastel on board, I made my first piece." Her art process begins with a calendar, taking the twelve months and cutting each month in to different shapes disregarding color and subject matter. "I am left with 12 piles of paper shapes," Price said. '1 spread them out on the masonite, move them around, combine some with others until order begins to emerge in the form of a fish, a tree, an insect." The process tends to become very lengthy as she moves die papers around randomly to create shapes, which eventually evolve into a picture. '1 do not paint what 1 see, nor do 1 have a subjective agenda." Price said she hopes her work helps to inspire others to create out of their own artistry. "I believe that since everyone who looks at a painting or sculpture brings individual perspective to the work, the act of viewing enlarges its meaning," Price said. In addition to the display at the Hunter Library, Price's work is currently being exhibited at the Fables Fine Art in Salt Lake City, the Springville Museum of Art and the St George Art Museum.
