The security recognition, the James S. Cogswell Award, was presented by the regional industrial security director at a brief Hercules ceremony which honored key members of the security staff, including security supervisor T. W. Billis. A. W. Hazen, director of industrial security for the Defense Investigative Services San Francisco region, described the award as an impressive recognition for Hercules in making the presentation to Bacchus Vice President and General Manner Garv R. Muir. The Bacchus Wonts received its fust Cogswell award, named for the first chief of a centralized office of industrial security, in 1975. Recipients this year indude major aerospace companies such Martin as Lockheed, McDonnell, Marietta and Honeywell. Lextar began commercial production of Pulpex polyolefin pulps in April 1981 at a new facility in Deer Park, Texas. The purchase by Hercules of Lextar includes all of the technology patents, and assets of the Deer Park plant. In Europe, Lextar will continue to market and sell Pulpex for its present and future customers through various Hercules subsidiaries, and will be located at Hercules BV, The Hague, and The Netherlands. In the United States the company will maintain its corporate headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, and will continue to supply customers from the Deer Park plant. For an interim period, Solvay will continue to assist Lextar in order to assure an orderly transfer of its responsibilities to Hercules. fronted them.
