Variety Arts Council sponsors writing contest The Kanab Variety Arts Council is sponsoring a writing contest for the seventh grade English students and one for the eighth" grade students. The middle school classes will be assigned by their English teachers to write a short story which will be judged by a panel chosen by the Variety Arts Council. There will be a first, second and third place cash prize of $50, $25 and $15 respectively, for each class. The names of the story authors will not be revealed until after the judgeshave made their choices.
