Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS School 12 WEDNESDAY MARCH 21, 2001 Wittwer recipient of the 2000 Presidential Award President Bush named Peggy Wittwer, daughter of Athene and the late Delmont McAllister of Kanab, as a reci pient ofthe 2000 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Each year the White House recognizes the best of the nations 2 mathematics and science teachers with this highest honor. There is also the opportunity to work in the science labs at SUU doing many science experiments, including DNA fingerprinting, gel electrophoresis, and DNA isolation. While at the camp, participants will also be submerged in a brief college experience. Theyll live in the dornis with roommates, attend classes and have many fun social activities. Theyll also have the opportunity to meet other students from across the state who are also interested in a health care career. Registration for the camp is currently being accepted. The camp will be limited to only a certain number of individuals on a first come, first serve basis. Interested individuals should get their registration in soon.
