Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 4, 2000 Community DWS child care program Effective October 1, several changes to the Payment to Parent Program were implemented. Parents eligible for a child care subsidy will receive a two-part- y check. Parents will receive the checks on the first of each month. The check will list the parents and the provider's names on the check. This new system will simplify the reconciliation process. DWS customers have been notified twice by mail over the past two months. Notice was also given to the child care providers. Community advocacy groups have also been aware of the changes for several months. We are concerned because a significant number of our customers have not yet contacted their Employment Counselors with the name of their child care providers, said Curt Stewart, department spokesman. If they have not named their provider, we will not be able to issue the benefit. Customers need to contact their Employment Counselors as changes soon as possible to continue their child care benefits, said Stewart, our Employment Centers are gearing up for a last minute of traffic. The changes in the Payment to Parent Program were initiated by an internal audit conducted y check by DWS. The accountabilwill system improve ity of taxpayer dollars.
