Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 2000 Opinion Letters Continued, from Page 4 before first giving the citizens an opportunity to review all options and express their desires in a public vote. A vote seems to be the correct (perfect) solution to settle the issue. Wouldnt this once and for all determine if the Kane County Commission is only in disagreement with a special interest group? Wouldnt this determine if the continued placement of blame in the press of this special interest group is war- ranted? It was the County Commissioners and the County Attorney that were disruptive , in my opinion. The meeting will have to be held again in a larger facility. Maybe this person will be there. This person wrote that...we are privileged to live in a democracy. This person also is uninformed in this regard. There is not one word in the Constitution that says we are a democracy. In the Federalist Papers, written by the Founding Fathers, as they deliberated the framing of the Constitution, they mention their abhorrence of a democracy. A democracy is one of the best ways to dupe and control the thinking of the people and eventually put the people into bondage. Thomas Jefferson said, If we had angels to rule over us, we wouldnt have to worry, but we have men, so lets bind them down with chains of the Constitution. Lets hear no more about trust. All persons in positions of government must swear by oath Sincerely, Kathrin Brock Dear Editor: The last issue had a letter to the editor with the name withheld. He or she is really uninformed about the public meeting in the courthouse thatheshe made an report about and this person wasnt even there. This person reported the feelings of someone else that obviously had a strong negative opinion about the subject matter. If this person would have been there with an open, unbiased mind, they would have had a educated opinion.
