Traveling through Europe four years ago to attend various folk festivals, Clive Romney, the founder of Enoch Train, felt impressed to record an album where he could explore the em-- . phasis of these classic melodies and how they inspired cultures. Enoch Train is an instrumental- -contemporary coustic-Americana-folk ensemble dedi- cated to recording and performing traditional and original melodies from around the world in a fresh and inventive manner, explains Romney. We wanted to bring novel expression to the songs that helped to form a new musical tradition in a budding new nation. As a professional in the music industry for over 3 1 years, Romney has had numerous opportunities to illustrate his talent as a producer, songwriter, arranger and musician. He has produced over 900 albums, written over 250 published works, appeared on over 1,400 audio recordings and logged over 2,000 live performances. His desire to bring to light a fresh expression of the tunes that influenced America inspired him to call on some of his musician friends in the state of Utah to realize this vision. Along with being the groups musical director, Clive Romney plays mandolin for Enoch Train; Daron Bradford, once the principal clarinetist with the Mexico City Philharmonic, plays all the woodwinds; Janice Andersen, once named Musician of the Year in Chicago 'and, mote recently, Utah State Fiddle Champion ( 1996), plays the fiddle; Rob Honey, a highly sough after studio and tour bassist and award winning songwriter, is on and upright bas3; Rich Dixon can be found 6dmpMihg, both-electr- ic at these locations: St. George: R&Ks Bookstore; Hurricane: Zion Drug, Cedar City: Munsons Music; Kanab: Zion Pharmacy; Springdale: Flanigans Inn, Desert Pearl or at the gate. Though dentists recommend and give away brushes, 45 of all brushes sold in the U.S. have medium or firm bristles. So buy a soft brush and use a soft grip, not a fist, when brushing..
