There will be food and game booths all day. Cash prizes will be awarded for the parade and the horseshoe tournament and a traveling trophy donated by Nedras Cafe will be awarded for the softball tournament. Have a safe and happy 4th! The Kanab Lions Club 4th of July breakfast and hamburger cookout will be in our usual spot at the Gazebo. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:00 a.m. featuring an all you can eat menu of ham, hot cakes and eggs. The price will be adults - $3.50 each and children under 12 - $1.50 each. Breakfast will be followed by our large, juicy 14 pound hamburgers for only $2 each. Beverages for the day will be orange juice, served with breakfast at no additional cost and ice cola soft drinks to accompany your hamburger for only 50 cents a can. Bottled water will also be available at $1 each. Start your 4th off with a real blast thisyear...Bring the family for breakfast and burgers at bargain prices, courtesy of your local Lions Club. Lake Powell expecting a busy 4th of July Large crowds are expected all along Lake Powells shoreline within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area this upcoming 4th of July weekend. Superintendent Joseph Alston noted that Right now the Bureau of Reclamation is projecting Lake Powell to come within five feet of full pool. The Utah State Flag and the U.S. Flag were donated to the community by Omer and Anita Mullen cfMt. Carmel. The Mullens very generously paid for the materials and tfie flag pole, as well as the labor to install the pole. John Reese, assisted by his scout leader Wade Esplin and L&fay Coleman, preformed the labor to install the flag pole. The project was a part ofJohn Reeses Eagle project.
