Johnson Della Brown Johnson was bom April 8, 1908 in Fredonia, AZ to Frank Scott and Sarah Ella Church Brown. She died May 19, 1999, in Kanab. She was the sixth of 10 children. Della was nine when her mother died. Her father was left raising the children on his own, so Della went to live with her Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Dan for a year. Later, she went to nurses training school in Phoenix. She said the worst feeling she could ever remember was gettting homesick down there. Della married Narvol Arthur Johnson on June 3, 1931 in Paro wan... They had two sons, Darrow, and then 15 years later, Scott. When Darrow was 10 months old, she went to beauty school in San Francisco and lived with her sisters Thelma and Madoline. She then moved to Mesquite, NV where she had a beauty shop and Narvol had a farm. Born May 23 in Price, UT to Lillian Robertshaw and Gerald Ray Leonard. Married Ralph Willard Parker on September 10, 1948 in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. He died June 13, 1997. Gerry enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, and gardening. She liked to travel and enjoyed spending time camping in the outdoors, especially in the mountains. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and was active in the West Covina California Womens Club. (West She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Center and Main. April was a good friend to those who knew her. She improved the lives ofthose around her leaving people, animals, and even plants better for having been touched by her life. She was a wonderful mother who put the needs of her children first, and had immense love for each of her grandchildren. Those who are old enough will never forget her. She died of cancer which she bravely fought for 10 years. She goes to join her husband George and her mother Genevieve. She will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include her children Jeffrey (Jackie) Lee of San Gabriel, CA, Kelly (Michael) TheisofNewportNews, Virginia, Keren (Jack Grimm of Prescott Valley, AZ, Shana (James) Burton of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Brandon Lee of Coos Bay, OR, stepdaughter Peggy Ann Lee of Culver City, CA; brothers Paul Truax of Orange, CA and Robert Truax of Los .Angeles, CA; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and husband George. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the Prescott Valley LDS Chapel, 7855 East Long Look Drive, Prescott. Friends may call from 5: 15 until time of service at the chapel. Graveside sendees will be held Saturday. May 29, at 2:00 p.m.. under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab.
