The lab staff consists of two Medical Technologists; Jeanette Johnson, MT; andDanSmaliing,MT. The reference testing is sent to Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo. In 1998 we provided services during 6, 116 patient visits. We performed 2,477 CBCs (Complete Blood Count), 837 urinalyses, 2,465 glucoses, and 2,069 potassiums. This represents a very small portion of testing done here at KCH. We ran 4,015 control samples to monitor just those tests listed above. We observed and manually counted 247,000 white blood cells while performing CBCs. We sent 2,628 F axs of lab results to your physicians. We routinely provide lab testing for 20 to 25 physicians in St. George, and for 10 physicians in Cedar City and Salt Lake City.
