The Christian Motorcycle Association held its Western National Rally in Kanab June 0 with nearly 1,000 members in attendance. Utilizing the Kanab High School grounds, CMA members made Kanab home base for their Christian evangelism meeting. God has really blessed this ministry, commented one cyclist, during a break in worship services. It has given many of us a whole new focus in life. And all of this began with a strained fatherson relationship. Baptist minister Herb Shreve began cycle riding in the early seventies to restore his relationship with his rebellious teenage son by sharing a comsoft-spoke- 17-2- Shreve found that motorcycle groups had no one to minister to them. He sensed the need for someone to attend cycle events and share the love Jesus had for them. He placed an ad in a cycling magazine seeking other a motorcycle club. Ministry growth has come so rapidly that the U.S. was divided into five regions with five regional evangelists being placed to oversee both evangelistic outreach, and the new chapters beginning to spring up everywhere.
