Show School KHS Drama does well at State April 17th and 18th found Kanab High School Drama students in Richfield competing at State Drama competition. After a very good showing at Region, the students and their coaches had high hopes going into State. There are now 17- - 2A schools. The competition was the most challenging we had ever come up against. Duchesne, third place San Juan, and fourth place Parowan. The bright spot in the play competition for us was Sara Vreekens win of Best Actress in the play category. Sara had her wisdom teeth out on Monday and was fighting Strep Throat, as were several of our actors. She was a real trooper and gave her best performance ever. Kanab came in seventh place among the 17 schools. This is one of our higher State finishes. The students have had a good competition season this year and we're very proud of them. Now its time for some fun. Dont miss the Musical Melodrama-No- , No A Million Times No to be held on May 7,8,9 & 11th on the Kanab High School stage. Megan Winchester plays the Heroine, Ammon Kegel the Hero, Spencer Mosdell the Villain and his sister Camie Mosdell is the Villainess, Plus a cast and chorus of well, many others. Dont miss our favorite song Tm a bold, bad man. See Though the final results werent as good as we had hoped for, the Kanab students did very well. For individual events the following students received Su- periors: Ben Dowse, Sara Vreeken, Greg Hamblin, Karen Geiger, Bryan Rhodes, Spencer Mosdell, Joy Tait, Aaron Stevens, Andrea Stevens, Julie Wilcox, Andrea Crosby and Cara Rider. Ben Dowse qualified for a Medal in the Humorous Inter- pretation category and Greg Hamblin and Sara Vreeken qualified for Medals in the Scenes from Play Category. The Play The Cry of the Crows came in fifth behind first place Manti, second place you there. ft t SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY APRIL 29, 1998 Support the KHS Library at Spring Fling The KHS first period Character Education class invites you to attend Spring Fling a benefit dance to purchase new books for the KHS library, on the evening of Friday, May 8 from p.m. in the high school gym.
