Lou Pratt and Evan Callister of the Roads Department are anxious to start on the 4.7 miles of Kodachrome Road, because the project will go into the fall of 1997. The project is for $250,000 with matching funds from the state. Commissioner Crosby made the motion to start advertising and use the state money. Motion carried unanimously. Evan Callister requested that whatever money is available, they use it to continue improvements on Johnson Canyon Road. There is a three mile section south of the Church Ranch that needs to be redone because of heavy truck traffic. The motion to approve the Johnson Canyon resurface job passed unanimously. Randy Riddle was approved by the commissioners to be hired as a full time secretary for the road department. He will begin at salary grade 8A probationary status for six months. Pratt also brought to the commissioners' attention that on B & C roads, gates are being set up without permission, cattle guards are more appropriate. Chairman Carroll stated that the policy for B roads is that they need a cattle guard. The new owner is financially responsible.
