Currently, race organizers are lining up sponsors and working out details. Tentative plans include having the Kanab Cowboy Boosters work with Houston's Trails End Restaurant to set dinup and serve the pre-rac- e ner planned for Friday, May 9. The Boosters would use this g event for as a their support of high school athletics. A miyor change in the format is that the walking event will be held separately from the 10K run and on a new course. This change resulted because traffic on US Highway 89 can only be disrupted for about 90 minutes and some walkers take more time to cover the 10K distance. Race organizers are setting up a walking course of about three miles that would start near State Bank of Southern Utah, follow the roads in the Cedar Heights subdivision west of Kanab Creek, and finish at State Bank.' Since tins a new idea, it is difficult to determine how may walkers will participate. Due to this uncertainty, the walking event will be and no awards will be given. If .the new course is and participation is good, then awards can be considered for next years event. Finishers in the walking event will be eligible for the prize drawings held after the 10K run. Any business, organization, or individual interested in either sponsoring or volunteering to help with walk or run should contact Brian Avery 5, Terry Tucker orJon Martin Your support is needed to make the 10K a successful event. fund-raisin- non-competiti- ve Kanab Tire Center Free Pick-u- p and Delivery well-receiv- ed 644-525- 8, jiiiMivnnMaBwwnaRHial Mizuno 25, Adidas 21 Mizuno's big halftime lead nearly vanished as Adidas mounted a comeback that fell short.
