M Ice fishing season-Panguitc- h Lake The ice fishing season has opened at offi-cial- ly Utahs Panguitch Lake. PanguitchLake is located in beautiful Garfield county, just off of Scenic Byway 143. This lake is a nine mile natural alpine lake which has been acclaimed as one of the nations ten best trout lakes by The National Sportsman magazine. Great fishing is to be had all year-rounIn fact, the name Panguitch is a Native American word meaning Big Fish! The lake is filled with Rainbow, Brook, Brown and Cutthroat trout. Beaver and otters are found in the nearby stream that feed the lake and in the nearby mountains and meadows are deer, elk, antelope, bear and mountain lions. Panguitch Lake, a peaceful haven in todays busy world, is close enough to be easily accessible. It is also very close to other scenic attractions in Utah; Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell, Cedar Breaks, Snow Canyon and Kodachrome Basin.
