Binoculars, cameras with telephoto lenses, and spotting scopes will be necessary items. Arizona Game & Fish will provide communal telescopes through which the release pens and the condors can be seen quite well. A remote video camera will provide a close-u- p view of the release. Only a few biologists and media folks will be at the release pens; before dawn, they will enter observation blinds from which they will not be released until nightfall or the birds fly free, whichever comes first. If you attend the release, be prepared for the weather. It could be freezing all day, or a sunny 50 degrees by mid-daRegardless, the morning will be cold. With wind, even colder.
