Show News SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 1996 Forest Service invites public comment on Bridger salvage On September 24, 1996 the Bridger Salvage Analysis Team Kaibab National Forest Super- or Conny Frisch, Forest Super- visor Conny Frisch and a team of resource professionals completed the Environmental Assessment on a proposed action that would move an analysis area of 16,000 acres the portions of the Bridgers Knoll Complex Fire where ponderosa pine trees were growing toward a desired condition. The preferred alternative would accomplish this by salvaging dead and dying ponderosa trees from approximately 4,600 acres of the analysis area, reforest roughly the same acreage with ponderosa pine, plant browse species (mostly shrubs) on about 500 acres in addition to other related activities. The Bridger Salvage Analysis Area is located approximately 30 miles south of Fredonia, Arizona. The Environmental Assessment is available for public review at the N orth Kaibab Ranger District office, 460 South Main, Fredonia, Arizona. Copies will also be available for review at the public libraries in Fredonia andKanab.
