Some beautiful quilts, and crocheted items were outstanding contributions. Also the wood carving of Matt Rogers "The Camp was a popular group conversation piece. It depicted individually carved campers in various poses, as the camp site is almost to be invaded by a bear, a cougar, and an outlaw. The only one aware is a nervous horse who is staring at the ready to strike cougar. Very unique work of art, by the infamous Matt Rogers. Quilters from Kanab and the Valley added to the displays, with color and creativity in the world of quilts, holding their own with honorable ribbons. A small clay replica of Jacob Hamblin, trading with the Indians was on display. The small sculpture was a miniature rendition of the planned sculpture, which will be placed in the center of Kanab. Also, Kanab's founder, pioneer Levi Stewart, will be represented in another large sculpture in the town square as well. The project will y J'S require donations and money making projects, as it is a large undertaking. It will certainly be a prized addition to the history of Kanab and Kane County. The dunking booth proved to be very profitable, as spectators paid for the County Commission members to sit in the Hot Seat or should we say cool, since the water was at a slightly chilling temperature. Each year the livestock show brings a large number of youth to the area to show their hogs, steers and lambs. Auctioneer Duke Cox added to the show in his typical Cowboy style.
