During the extended comment period, service biologists will continue to meet with community leaders in northern Arizona and southern Utah to ensure local involvement in the condor program. Local support is important in our efforts to recover endangered species, Said Nancy Kaufman, Regional Director of the services Southwest region. We are committed to working with all interested parties on the Colorado Plateau to develop this effort. The proposed condor release in Arizona is essential to establishing a second and separate population of condors in the wild. The extraordinary picture shows a somber Charlie framed in the window frame. The judge commented, a good framing. This was a creative picture. Editor Dixie Brunner won top state honors in the Best Editors Column division for her Dixie Speaks editorials. The judges comments were What a wonderful, extraordinary voice. The judge commented,' "the publication has excellent ad design, and was very appealing. In his first year of newspaper column writing and competition, Jeremy Brunner won third place in the state for his sports column, Spiral Notes. Ruth Koontz attended the UPA banquet, and accepted the awards on behalf of Southern Utah News publishers Dennis and Dixie Brunner. Remembertovote The town of Fredonia will hold a primary election on March 12, 1996 at the Fredonia Library. There are two council seats open and three people vying for the positions. The candidates are Joy Jordan, Merrill Robin Button and Antone Giovanini. Ms. Jordan and Mr. Button are the incumbents and Mr. Giovanini is a newcomer to Fredonia politics.
