Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY APRIL 19, 1995 Community 16 FredoniaTown Council meeting The Fredonia Town Council working hours a week. Mr. 15 meeting was held April 12, at the Fredonia Library. Present were: Brent Mackelprang, Robin Button, Ron Pratt and Joy Jordan. Measures discussed: Work to be done around town. Sprinkler at the medical center lawn needs work; large trash will be hauled on or about April 14 and 21. The trailer that was left on the Bean property will be moved and impounded at the yard. Trees need to be trimmed on the comers on Main Street. Storm drains need to be cleaned by ADOT. The concession stand at the Little League field needs to be finished for the ball season. Art Meen volunteered to help with the block. Cost will be computed for electricity at the cemetery and water line needs replacing. Lathim will check on a marker for marking the parking lot at the medical center. Mike Mellor reported 17 moving violations and 13 cases which included theft ofpurse, criminal damage at the Grand Canyon Motel, DUI, dogs in livestock, dogs at large, dogbite, theft of bikes at school, theft of anvil, assault, theft of two guns (these were old and valuable), damage on car, criminal damage, broken window in car. Mellor brought up the idea of forming a new county as we are not getting the services we deserve. Mayor asked Mellor to research the possibility of a new county and to put together a committee for same. Art $200 was allowed for the purchase of office equipment. Historical archives will be stored in the storeroom. Marie Sadlier is working 30 hours a week now and Christy Cox is Meen-Librar- y. Meen asked for 10 more hours a week for Marie and 25 to 30 hours a week for Christy during the summer months. This will be tabled until the special meeting. Fern Hansen wants to demolish the house on the property on 87 S. First E. A permit is not needed for this work. She asked about putting a manufactured home on the lot on a permanent foundation. The council supports a manufactured home on a block foundation. Trees need to be planted on owners property, not on town A letter with this information will be written for the Hansens. right-of-wa- y. Regular meeting: Item hearing for the use of CDBG funds. Carl Stewart of NACOG conducted the hearing. The items presented were: removable of architectural barriers at the cemetery, fire exit in handicapped library, fire house, property for fire house, planning for sewer system, low income sewer hookups-housin- g rehab, acquisition of land. Item Cluff explained the slow sand nanafilter system for water and sewer. Item Kleisen asked about the summer recreation program.
