(l-r- As time runs out, the body goes south By the VHS Dixie English 101 Class hard people try - or how often gravity will always win! As time slowly ticks away, the As time goes on, the middle- best of the body migrates south age spread comes out ... and out with increasing frequency. A ... and out! What does the saggy baggy body is difficult to hide because gravity is always pulling it down. As time goes on, you might find yourself greas- ing your hips so you can get into aneleyatorbecauseofthemiddle spread. Additionally, not only does the body go south, but also the hair tends to follow. A force of nature, known as gravity, will eventually cause any body to sag. Al- though you cant do much to prevent the sagging and bag- girg of skin, tummy, and face, many people attempt to do just that. They attempt to defy grav- ity by wearing spandex to hold everything up and in where it usedtobe. Spandex clothes do not hold anything up; they only magnify the ripples and bulges, If spandex doesnt work, some people try tucking their tummies or lifting their faces. People who try tucking their tummies only postpone the sagging and bag- ging of their bodies. Facelifts only tie up what will eventually fall down again. No matter how spread mean? In- stead of finding your spare tire in the truck, do you now find it jiggling around your torso and spilling over the convertible seat as you drive? When youre out Christmas shopping, do little kids come up to you and hand you their Christmas wish lists and ask how Rudolf is doing? When you walk down the street, do you look like a ripe pear in- stead of an hour glass? Finally, you walk down the airplane aisle, do you wonder if you will be able to shut the lavatory door with- out first sitting down? This is what the middle-ag- e spread means! The passing oftime also causes hair to go south. The constant pull of gravity finally takes ef-feet and the old folks hairlines go down the drain; this leaves a shiny dome for all to see. This must be embarrassing because many old folks try to force their ever diminishing hair north in various ways. One of these tricks is to grow out the remaining middle-ag- e Now Showing at Kanab Theatre hair and plaster it over the shiny portion of the head while secur- - ing it with bobby pins. Some, instead of going through all this trouble, buy a toupee or hat to cover up their thinning tops, Others have tried to cover up thinning hair by changing their hair color or dying their scalps to make it appear as if they still have a full head of hair. How-ag- e ever, their blue or pink tinted hair usually gives this trick away. Time is their enemy be- cause they cannot cover up the fact that their hair is going south. As you can see, time causes a southward migration of the body; it happens to everyone. Gravity exerts a downward pull on the body which unfor- tunately, causes the saggy baggies. Most folks try to cover them up in all sorts of ways none of which is ever really sue- cessful. Time also causes the middle-ag- e spread to appear in a WIDE variety of forms. As with the body, you can deter- mine the passing of time as your hairline journeys south and sometimes down the drain. As time goes by, it becomes your enemy as your body slips slowly down into the sunset. Wednesday through (2-1- 5) Saturday (2-1- 8) Showtime 8 p.m. 29 W. The energy of cast and the challenges with characters makes the morning rehearsals a great way to wake up. On February 3, several people showed up for the open rehearsal of the First act. The energy felt on stage was felt throughout the auditorium. Considering that the first act hasnt been rehearsed in a week, they did an excellent job, commented Jones. Something happens between the words in the script and when a student acts a part. Its called energy, usually manifested by Jones leading the cast in a ritual ha ha exercise.
