Show r SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 15, 1995 Community BSA announces gift annuity program The Boy Scouts of America announces the creation of a national gift annuity program to attract gift support to local scouting councils, Frank Aydelotte, Director of Public Affairs, announced recently. The purpose of the program, Aydelotte said, is to create a new stream of gift income to local B.S.A. cpuncils at this critical time, when scouting is seen as an effective program to counter the loss of young boys to gang activity. Aydelotte said a national advertising campaign is underway to create public awareness of this program. He said ads on the program will be seen in Sunset, Southern Living, New Choices, and other nationally distributed magazines. Aydelotte said the idea of a lifetime annuity is not new. What this program offers, he said, is an opportunity for people who need an annuity and charitable tax deductions as an opportunity to also benefit scouting. We believe there are people in the community who recognize the value of scouting for youngboys and their neighborhood and community. The B.S.A. gift annuity program allows donors to exchange a gift to scouting for a guaranteed life income that is paid quarterly. Aydelotte said the program is conducted through the naKeith Judd is a 1956 tional office of the B.S.A. but it is from FHS.
