Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS Opinion WEDNESDAY AUGUST 3, 1994 Dixie Speaks There are many times when we don't realize how lucky we are living in this area. Dennis and I learned that soon after moving here. At that time, the community and local LDS Church stakes were presenting the musical, "The Sound of Music." Donna Casebolt directed the popular musical with Max and Janet Jackson in the lead roles, and numerous community members contributing their talents as well. We attended the play expecting the usual commufare. nity theater-calibr- e We were surprised. What we were treated to was simply one of the best theatrical performances I've ever had the privilege of watching. The acting, costumes and music were We were amazed that a production of that calibre could be produced in such a small remote area, utilizing only local talent. The "Sound of Music" proved to us that we had moved to an area which possessed some enormously-talente- d individuals. We couldn't wait until the next production, which we sadly learned, would be in two more years. I'm happy to say that two years have gone by, (quickly), and the Kanab and Kaibab Utah Stakes of the LDS Church and Kanab High School are sponsoring yet another production! Rodgers and Hammerstein's, "The King and I" will be presented on August 4, 5 & 6 at the Kanab High School. Showtimes will be at 7:00 p.m., with a matinee her very much. on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Advanced ticket sales will be Vance L. Pugh 0 p.m. at the high school ticket August 3 from Kenneth P. Weloveherand will miss well-traine- d Wednesday, July 13, 1994 edition, vol. 63, No. 22, and I enjoyed Dixie Speaks. Yes, it is a shame what the tongue can cause. I am in prison today because of a vile, ugly rumor that is not true and the guilty walks the streets of Kanab and Fredonia freely. I also enjoyed Sue Lewis article on What is Justice? You people in society simply would not believe the stupid things that some of theinmatesareinthisprison for, and you would not want to easily dollars give up your to support such a farce! True, many, many belong here but at least 50 do not! hard-earne- d Thanks for a great paper!
