Play director, JoAnn Fean, is very enthusiastic about this years dramatic production. Voices From the High School is a new play which became available last year for general purchase. It is a series of scenes which represent the problems, joys, struggles, and victories of our nation's high school students. It comes highly recommended by the New York Times drama critics and was reviewed in material from the National Council of Teachers of English. Some of the scenes are very painful and will bring tears to the eyes of the audience, said Mrs. Bean. This show is nothing if it isnt honest in its portrayal of the y life of adolescents who are trying to fit into the real world." Some of the scenes are hilarious and will delight the audience with their crazy situations and Catch-22- " predicaments. On the serious side, the play is a treatment of social problems like drug abuse, teen-ag- e alcoholism, suicide and the difficulties of falling in love in your day-to-da- PEQS dot the Isndscaps around Fradonla marking the comars of Agricultural Tracts. When the town was laid out and settled, the land had not been surveyed. Consequently, the settlers just fenced in fields of their choice. The fields were farmed, and bought and sold without a legal deed. Finally, in about 1915, the U.S. government sent a team of surveyors to Fredonia. The fields were surveyed along fence lines and Tract Agricultural number. Each tract was marked at the corners by the brass caps. Even today, the tracts are bought and sold with the only description being a tract number. Those of us in education face many problems and we often feel frustrated because more can't be done to help students," commented Bean. We are hoping that parents will see this play with their children and that some of the situations might invoke dialogue between the generations where none existed before. The rehearsals started in February and there was enthusiastic response from students in all age and ol- dgroups.
