| Show REGARDING PERMITS MANTI NATIONAL FOREST for the information of parties con berned in the mayfield program issued by the forest service in 1901 page the following appears when the average number of stock grazed under each permit is less tan the protective limit the applications of new beginners should not be approved for more than one fourth the protective limit and only with the understanding that the stock will run in connection with culli bated lands and fed during the winter when the average bumbel of stock grazed under each permit is 20 percent below the protective limit no applina eions from new beginners will be ap proved unless the conditions warrant a reduction of the protective limit the protective limit for sheep on the manti in the year 1909 was head and the average permit sheep the protective limit for cattle was 50 head and the average permit 19 cattle the facts as measured by the foregoing direction excluded consideration of new applicants lor stock no modification has been made which authorizes the supervisor to grant permits to new applicants for either sheep horses or cattle A W JENSEN supervisor manti national forest |
