Show A12 Robert H5I1IS Nov. 12, Christian Verna Williams Kananiokawai Hunter Aug. 8, 191 5, 2004 Verna Williams Hunter, age 86, passed away while sleeping in her home on Sept, 5, 2004. She was surrounded by her family and felt their love during her final days and hours of life. Verna was born on D. in She graduated from Granite High School and then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Utah. A strong advocate of education, she pursued a teaching career in elementary education until stopping to raise her family. On June 5, 1942, she mamed Daniel M. Hunter who was then serving in the United States Army. Following his return from overseas duty they began their family and built their first home in Woods Cross, Utah. She later moved with her family to their second home located in Bountiful, Utah, where she and her husband have lived for more than 40 years. Verna is survived by her husDan; her three children, and Gerald Daniel, Kathy (Calobeer); a sister, Burnetta Bouck; 11 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. A member of The Church of Saints, Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y she served in numerous positions during her life, including the companionship and support for her husband's calling as Bishop of the South Bountiful First Ward while living in Woods Cross, Utah. Her favonte calling, though, was that of teacher. She also supported and sustained her two sons in serving church missions to the Philippines band, and Japan. For all her many accomplishments in life, she will be most remembered for her unselfish and unlimited devotion to her family. Her love and sincere belief in the potential of her husband, children and grandchildren has lifted them and inspired them. Her sacrifices of endless service have set an example for her family. Verna has passed away with the honor and respect of her family having lived a full and comlife. Funeral services Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, in the Bountiful Hills 1190 East Bountiful graveside services will be held at 1 1:30 a m. He grew up in Sandy City and attended school at Bellview Elementary, Mt. Jordan Middle School and went on to graduate from Jordan High in 1994. He will be dearly missed by all of his "ohana" (family) in Hawaii and Utah. Kuki mamed his eternal companion, Maile Michiko Een, on July 18, 1 998, in the Bountiful LDS Temple. He was the most kind, caring and respectful husband. He always put his wife before himself. He loved spending time with his family going camping, fishing, spending time outdoors, and going to the drive-i- n movie theatre. He was a patient person. He was hard working and was recognized by all of his employers. He had a big heart and was willing to stop and help someone change a tire or with anything they needed. He man but set a was a good example to all who knew him. Kuki was an active member of the LDS Church and lived a Christ-lik- e life. He served in many capacities in his ward and loved serving his Father in Heaven. Kuki is survived by his wife, Maile; son, Israel; daughter, Marley; parents, Bruce and Maila Lelepali; brother, Hagoth (Angela) Lelepali; sisters, Dore (Shane) Holden, Holden Beach, N.C.; Emma Lelepali (serving in the California Los David Angeles Mission); his and Sandra Een, Bountiful; and many extended relatives in Hawaii, California and Utah. The family thanks relatives, neighbors and friends for all of their love and service. They also thank Dr. Patricia Legant, the Cottonwood Hospital 5th floor staff, the BMT unit at the University of Utah Hospital, and especially My Family com. Kukis "unknown" BMT donor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; three children, Robert Craig (Kristine) Gross, Becky Ann (James) Leonelli, and Richard Alan (Julie) Gross; eight loving grandchila dren; three brother, Gerald Albert (Jacqueline) Gross of Lewisburg, Ohio; a brother-in-laJames T. (Linda) Daniel of Troy, Ohio; and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis A. Townsend; and a granddaughter, Danielle Carolyn Gross.
