That BY TOM BUSSELBERG Clipper Today News Editor Some big names KAYSVILLE in the business and political world are planning to appear at the first ever Davis County Business Showcase chamber Oct. 15 and 16. Jon Huntsman, Jr chairman of the Envision Utah planning effort, and Rep. James Hansen, of Farmington, are among those planning to attend the event slated for the Davis Applied ty h, Technology Center. Other big names committed to attend are Tom Grimm, president of Sams Club and former Bountiful res- ident; and Thayne Robson, chief economist with the Utah Bureau of Business & Economic Research at the University of Utah. Also participating are State Rep. Kevin Gam, Majority leader of Layton; Jewelee Kenley, owner of Kenley Ford, and Paul Thompson, president of Weber State University. Massage therapy practice opens KAYSVILLE Sara Vasquez, a native of Peru, has recently opened a massage therapy practice at the Pulse Fitness Center. Vasquez, who came to the United States seven years ago, completed her professional training at the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City. REQUIRING OWNERS OF LOTS, SITES OR PORTIONS OF THE KAYSVILLE CITY CEMETERY WHICH HAVE BEEN UNUSED FOR BURIAL PURPOSES FOR MORE THAN 60 YEARS TO FILE WITH THE CITY RECORDER A NOTICE OF CLAIM AND INTENT TO USE THE LOT OR SITE FOR BURIAL PURPOSES AND DIRECTING THE CITY RECORDER TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH FILING REQUIREMENTS AND DIRECTING THE CITY RECORDER TO CLAIM ALL BURIAL SITES WHICH REMAIN UNCLAIMED FOLLOWING THE REQUIRED NOTICE PERIOD. WHEREAS, the Kaysville City Council has previously adopted and approved certain cemetery rules and regulations for the orderly operation of the Kaysville City Cemetery; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Utah Law, a procedure has been provided for municipalities to reclaim any unused lot, sites, or portions of the cemetery which are unused for more than 60 years: and WHEREAS, the City Council of Kaysville City has directed the City Recorder to survey and ascertain those lots that have remained unused for burial purposes for more than 60 years which survey has been completed; and WHEREAS, the Kaysville City Council desires to give appropriate notice as required by law to the owners of such lots; and WHEREAS, the Kaysville City Recorder has been directed to reclaim any lots for which notice of claims have not been submitted following the required notice. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of Kaysville City, Utah: Section 1. Persons and or owners of any lot, site or portion of the Kaysville City Cemetery which has been unused for burial purposes for more than 60 years are hereby required to file with the Kaysville City Recorder a Notice of Claim to such unused lot, site or portion within the time provided herein. The Notice of Claim should state the individuals intention to use the lots for burial purposes. Section 2. The Kaysville City Recorder is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be personally served upon the owner or person having the right to burial within the city cemetery on all jots that have not been used for burial purposes for at least 60 years pros ided that the Recorder shall be able to ascertain the name and location of such persons to provide personal service. In the event the person having the right to burial or owner cannot be personally served with this Resolution, the Kaysville City Recorder is hereby directed to cause the same to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within Davis County, State of Utah, once per week for a period of three consecutive weeks. This Resolution shall be published in its entirety together with Exhibit A which is attached hereto and by this reference is made a part hereof. The information contained in Exhibit A specifies the names of those persons having right to burial and or owners and the lot numbers and grave information pertaining to satd individuals interest in the cemetery according to the records of the city. In addition, the Recorder is further directed to publish this notice in the Kaysville City Newsletter to be published in the month of September, 1999. Section 3. After personal services or publication of this Resolution, if the owner or any person with a legal interest in the cemetery lots fails to state valid interest in the use of the cemetery lot for burial purposes, the owner or person's rights shall be deemed terminated and that portion of the cemetery shall be automatically vested in Kaysville City. For purposes of this Resolution, the filing deadline for notice of interest shall be 60 days after personal service upon an individual or 60 days after the date of last publication in the Davis County Clipper, as applicable. Section 4. Upon vesting of any unused lots, sites or parcels in Kaysville City, the City shall thereafter have the right to sell said lots in accordance with the rules and regulations pertaining to the Kaysville City Cemetery. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon first publication in the Davis County Clipper.
